Schools Privacy Notice

Draft of 3 October 2026. Not in force yet. All versions

Draft for legal review.

Our lawyers are still checking this text, so it may change before it takes effect.

This notice describes Jupo World's classroom mode. Schools give it to parents, so they know how their children's classroom information is handled. Classroom mode is not available yet. We publish this draft so schools and our lawyers can review it before the first school signs up.

Who can use classroom mode

Classroom mode is offered only to schools and nurseries in the European Union. It is not offered to schools in the United Kingdom, the United States or Turkey at this time. Clubs, coaches and companies cannot use classroom mode; their children play at home under a family account.

Before any pupil is added, a verified head, director or a person they name must accept our school authorisation and sign a data processing agreement on the school's behalf. A teacher cannot do this alone. We check the person's authority first.

Who is responsible

For classroom information, the school is the controller and decides how it is used. We are the school's processor: we handle the information only on the school's written instructions, under a data processing agreement (GDPR Article 28). For anything about a pupil's classroom information, parents should contact the school first.

What classroom mode collects

  • a nickname for each pupil, chosen by the teacher. We ask teachers to use a first name, a fun name or a number, never a surname;
  • an avatar (the character's look);
  • the class's age band (for example 5 to 6);
  • a picture password if the class uses one: pupils log in by tapping pictures, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) version;
  • classroom play: games played in class, progress, minutes played and learning estimates per skill area;
  • which classroom devices are paired with the class.

What classroom mode never collects

  • a pupil's full name, email address, birth date, photo, voice or location;
  • anything from a pupil's home or family account, unless a parent links it (below);
  • any information for advertising or marketing.

No analytics, no ads, nothing for sale

A classroom device sends nothing to analytics, advertising or attribution services, from the first time it starts in classroom mode. There are no prices, purchases, store links, sign-ins or offers on any classroom screen. Classroom information is used only to run classroom play and to show teachers the class view. It is never used for marketing, never used to sell anything to families and never used to pay our ambassadors.

Who sees it

  • The class's teachers and the school's administrators see the class view: each pupil's learning picture from classroom play, by nickname. There are no scores and no rankings.
  • Our staff only when needed to support the school, with every access recorded.
  • Our service providers who host the service (Google Cloud and Firebase), under contract. The full list is in our Privacy Policy, and the school is told 30 days before we add a new one.

A school may invite parents to link their child's classroom play with the family's home account. This is always the parent's choice, made in the parent's own account, and can be withdrawn at any time:

  • Bringing class progress home copies the classroom progress into the child's home profile. Nothing flows back to the school.
  • Showing home play to the teacher is off by default. It needs a separate, stronger consent from the parent for each school, and is switched off until our lawyers approve it.

Where it is stored and for how long

Classroom information is stored in the European Union (Google Cloud), with some server functions in the United States protected by standard contractual clauses. Pupils' records are kept until the end of the school year plus 60 days, unless the school renews the class, and are then deleted. When a school leaves, its information is deleted after a 30-day cooling-off period, or returned to the school if it asks.

Parents' rights, through the school

Parents can ask the school to see, correct, export or delete their child's classroom information. Schools can do this themselves from the teacher portal. If a parent writes to us directly, we pass the request to the school.

The school is the first contact for parents. Schools can reach us at schools@jupo.world. Our privacy contact is privacy@little-grandmasters.com.
