What do I control?

How it works
What your child does, what they learn, and what you control.

Your child explores a castle world full of characters from the Chess Palace books. Each visit is a short mission: puzzles, mazes and minigames that take 5 to 15 minutes.

Every mission practises the six superpowers of the Chess Palace method: communication, memory, movement, creativity, self-control and collaboration. Along the way, children meet the chess pieces one by one.

Meet the pieces

The pawn steps forward one square at a time. Children practise patience and planning ahead.

The rook glides along straight lines. Children practise counting and spotting rows and columns.

The knight jumps in an L shape. Children practise spatial thinking and looking at a problem from a new angle.

The bishop travels on diagonals and always stays on its colour. Children practise noticing patterns.

The queen moves like a rook and a bishop together. Children practise combining two ideas into one.

The king moves one square in any direction and must always be kept safe. Children practise care and looking ahead.
